Stray Dog Sanctuary

Established 1961

The Leicestershire and Rutland Stray Dog Sanctuary has been run by the same family for forty years.  We are a self-funding organisation and donations of food and blankets are always welcome.  We do not actively request cash donations.

We always have stray and unwanted dogs looking for good, new homes; if you think you can offer one of our dogs a second chance, then please visit our sanctuary.

No appointment is necessary, and our opening times are as follows:

Monday to Saturday:        9.00 am - 3.30 pm

Sunday:                            10.00 am - 3.30 pm

We are located just of the A607 at Frisby-on-the-Wreake, near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.

Please  telephone us only if it is absolutely necessary, we cannot tell you about individual dogs looking for homes, as they may have already been re-homed by the time you arrive. We are a very busy kennels, and personal callers will always be given preference over telephone callers.

If you already have a dog or children, we recommend that you bring them along when you are viewing, so that you can see if any dog you are interested in is going to fit in with your family. A secure, fenced in garden at your home is necessary.

If you have a dog that needs to be found a home, a few pens are usually available.
